Q: How did you feel being announced as a FAME Team Member?
A: I felt absolutely ecstatic, I had worked so hard at what I had created and I was feeling so inspired so it was just ultimately gratifying to hear my name called. It was like everything I had done in my career came rushing onto me in that one moment. So many emotions…
Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in hair styling, and how will being a part of FAME Team help you?
A: I started working in a salon when I had dropped out of school at 16 and it was a natural progression for me. I had always cut my mates hair in my backyard from a young age, I was always interested in working in fashion. It was an easy decision.
Being on FAME Team is such an amazing opportunity that only a few select people in the world are given, I feel like it will help my work get recognised on a global level and help me to spread my passion for our craft, and help me to show others how they can drive their passion further and then they can spread what the learn too! Just a beautiful trajectory!
Q: How do you incorporate Davroe products into your styling routines, both personally and professionally?
A: I shampoo with Davroe Scalp Remedy and Conditioner every couple of days, and follow with the CURLiCUE Curl Balm and Murray River Salt Spray. I have super reactive and sensitive skin, and the way these products help my hair is nothing short of amazing. Davroe in a non-negotiable in my household!
My styling kit is pretty much exclusively Davroe, the products aren’t over complicated and when styling on set you have to be aware of people with allergies and Davroe’s ingredients never react with people I’ve worked with, it’s so important to me that people feel comfortable with the product in their hair. There is a product for everything so I’m never left feeling like I don’t have a product for a particular job! The best!
Q: Which Davroe product do you find yourself reaching for the most, and why?
A: Ultimatum! It’s just iconic, I do a lot of wet looks it can be used for so many different styles and can have low shine or high shine. I go through buckets of it! This paired with Complete is my favourite combination.
Q: From your experience, what advice would you give to aspiring hair stylists?
A: Find a mentor! Find a stylist whose work you love, and build a relationship with them, everyone has such a wealth of knowledge and we only ever learn from others. My mentors have made me the stylist I am today and I really strive to return that mentorship to others.
